Gynaecologist and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon
Dr Donald Angstetra
Dr Donald Angstetra commenced his private practice at the Women’s Health Centre at Gold Coast Private Hospital.
He completed his general obstetrics and gynaecology training through John Hunter Hospital training network before undergoing advanced gynaecological endoscopic training in Sydney, mastering the advanced surgical treatment of endometriosis and complex pelvic surgery.
Dr Angstetra is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Gold Coast University and Robina Hospitals. He has recently been appointed as an honorary Associate Professor at Bond University. He has a strong interest in endometriosis and is involved in research in this area.
He has a keen interest in developing and applying minimally invasive surgery for all benign diseases of the female reproductive tract.

01.Endometriosis Surgery
Affecting 1 in 10 women, endometriosis may cause pain and/or troubles with fertility. Our aim is to listen, advise and provide you with individualised treatment with evidence-based in endometriosis care.
02.Hysteroscopy and resection of Fibroid/polyp
Hysteroscopy cen be used to look for any problem inside the uterus, but also can provide treatment such as removing fibroids or polyps, correct a uterine septum or divide intra-uterine scarring
03.Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the womb (uterus), with or without the cervix. Hysterectomy is used to treat a number of conditions, including heavy or painful periods, fibroids and prolapse
04.Infertility
Infertility is defined as not being able to get pregnant despite having frequent, unprotected sex for at least a year for most couples
05.COLPOSCOPY
Colposcopy is a procedure to closely examine your cervix, vagina and vulva for signs of disease. Your GP may recommend colposcopy if your cervical screening test result is abnormal.
06.Endometrial Ablation
Endometrial ablation is a surgical procedure to destroy/ablate the endometrium (lining of your uterus). The aim of endometrial ablation is to reduce menstrual flow and in some women, menstrual flow may stop completely.
07. OOPHORECTOMY and OVARIAN CYSTECTOMY
Ovarian cysts are sacs filled with fluids or pockets located on or in an ovary. In some cases, these cysts
need to be removed surgically
08.PROLAPSE SURGERY
Reconstructive pelvic surgery aims to repair the pelvic floor and return organs to their original position. This can be done vaginally or laparoscopically or combination of both
09. FEMALE STERILISATION
Also known tubal ligation is a type of permanent birth control. The fallopian tubes are cut or cliped to permanently prevent pregnancy.
10.IUD INSERTION
An intrauterine device is a small T-shaped device that can be implant into the uterus to prevent pregnancy or treat heavy menstrual bleeding
